Bisleri, the sweet taste of purity!

She is the one named Sailor Moon!
Shweta Bafna, affectionately known to her close friends as "Shweta Bafna," achieved a unique distinction in this world at the tender age of 21. She became the first girl (after Sailor Moon, who doesn't really count), to steal Amit's heart (rumor has it that she still has it, and only allows him visitation rights on the weekends). While one can easily understand how Amit fell for his bride faster than you can say "did you even want to live in Kobe?," we must carefully analyze how Shweta came to view Amit with the same fondness that all of us, put together, including his family and some people we bribed on the side, have for him.

Frankly, we haven't figured it out yet. But that's because if Amit proposed to us, he would probably fly home with two black eyes.

Cold fusion in action
Shweta was born in a town not far from Bikaner, somewhat farther from Japan, in 1978. She grew up amid lush coconut trees in the shining port city of Cochin, where it rains more in four minutes than it does in thirty years in Bikaner. For more information about Cochin, we suggest you stop asking us and go there. Shweta was educated in a British school, where she earned a Bachelors degree in Commerce. Little did she know, gazing at those grand ships appearing and vanishing into the great sea, that she would one day be traveling to far-away shores (or maybe she did know, maybe she's psychic). Since we know as little about her life as we do about cold fusion, we have decided to skip the vast majority of her childhood and move right on to the wedding.

This guy used to train Shweta, but after she started consistently kicking his butt, they stopped working together.
When you look at Amit and Shweta together, you soon realize that they have a lot in common. Like Amit, Shweta is a person of many talents. Perhaps most impressive is her remarkable physical strength. Throughout the wedding ceremony, Shweta maintained a rigorous exercise routine that consisted mainly of wearing and supporting a dress roughly five times heavier than the groom. With enough fabric to carpet much of India wrapped around her, Shweta managed to maintain a smile for over 24 hours on the day of her wedding, breaking the long-standing record held by Delhi native Ayesha "Chicken Tikka" Jones.

Victims of Amit's previous karaoke performance
Shweta shares Amit's ability to act calm in the face of difficulty. Specifically, she is uniquely gifted with a capacity to withstand the most ear-shattering noises known to man. Yes, we are referring to perhaps the worst karaoke performance in the history of mankind. While dogs howled, people fled in panic, and whole rainforests came down, Shweta managed a courageous smile and maintained a stoic composure, and even continued to sit by the side of her own personal Pava-rot-a-lot after his ghastly performance.

To Shweta Bafna, now Shweta Khajanchi, we owe our gratitude and thanks. Not only did she play a major role in dragging our sorry asses out to Bikaner, through air, land, Indian police stations, and desert, but she brought a happiness to our friend that we have not seen since he found out about the all-you-can-eat vegetarian brunch at Bombay Club. So Shweta, we welcome you into our highly dysfunctional community, and strongly recommend you find the most effective earplugs money can buy…remember, Japan is the origin of Karaoke!!
